Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jin Zhuanglong first mentioned the metaverse, accelerating the planning and layout of future industries!

Following the issuance of the "Action Plan for the Integration of Virtual Reality and Industry Applications (2022-2026)" by five major departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the State Administration of Radio and Television, and the General Administration of Sport, Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jin Zhuanglong proposed in an interview with Xinhua News Agency to accelerate the innovative development of strategic emerging industries such as artificial intelligence, biomanufacturing, and the Internet of Things, implement a special action plan for the development of advanced manufacturing clusters, study and formulate future industrial development action plans, and accelerate the planning and layout of future industries such as humanoid robots, metaverse, and quantum technology.

The digital economy is an important engine driving China's economic growth and a significant advantage in building a modern industrial system. China has built the world's largest and technologically advanced network infrastructure, with 2.28 million 5G base stations and a gigabit optical network capable of covering 500 million households. Industrial Internet is widely integrated into 45 major categories of national economy, and the role of digital economy in enabling the real economy is becoming increasingly prominent.

In 2023, we will thoroughly implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, focusing on breakthroughs in digital technology innovation and application expansion, and promoting the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy.

One is to accelerate the construction of digital infrastructure. We will deepen the construction of 5G and gigabit optical networks, coordinate the construction of new infrastructure such as data centers and industrial Internet, and accelerate the deployment and application of the Internet of Vehicles. Implement the "Broadband Frontier" special action and provide strong support for the construction of "dual gigabit" networks in areas with demand and conditions.

The second is to promote the innovative development of the digital industry. Focus on key areas such as integrated circuits, 5G, and new displays, and enhance the supply level of basic software and hardware, core electronic components, key basic materials, and intelligent manufacturing equipment. Research and formulate supporting policies to better leverage the role of data elements, and build a world-class digital industry cluster.

The third is to deepen the digital transformation of industries. Carry out the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry, promote the popularization of industrial Internet in industrial parks, build a batch of 5G fully connected factories, build a batch of global leading smart factories and smart supply chains, and replicate and promote them to small and medium-sized enterprises in scenarios and standards.

The fourth is to strengthen network and data security protection. Strengthen the construction of network infrastructure security protection capacity, establish data security system specifications and standards in the industrial and information fields, and enhance the security guarantee capacity in 5G, industrial Internet, Internet of Vehicles and other new integration fields.

The fifth is to optimize the development environment of the digital economy. Innovate the supervision of the telecommunications market, guide and supervise the compliant development of platform enterprises, deepen the comprehensive governance of the network environment such as preventing and cracking down on telecommunications network fraud, and comprehensively strengthen the protection of user rights and interests.
